Agreed...fields are great, lots of activities outside of football. Not much to do at the Beach during December and the only good thing about Richmond is the Paper Moon! |

Have anyone noticed that VaBeach have not hosted the STATES since they closed the fields for renovations I believe that was `05. It should rotate to whoever has the fields and lodging available. The fields were beautiful in Fairfax and new to the 804 teams and I hope the Nationals can be played there soon. |

For the most part, unfortunatly the fields we have down here are dominated by soccer. The Parks and Rec in Va Beach is a pain in the butt!!! |

Check out the williamsburg/Lightfoot area! Warfield stadium has some new beautiful synthetic fields! We are playing spring league there right now. 5 or 6 fields. Probably not enough for state but it is a great location. |

Nova Hustler that just would not make sense. The Tournament has been in this area for the past 6 years which meant that you were getting mostly NOVA refs and every team in Hampton Roads had to travel to get there. It`s only fair to share the tournament since it is called the "State Championship" and not the "NOVA or Richmond Championsip" it needs to be moved so that every team has a chance to show off its City or area. |

Traffic sucks in NOVA - I say rotate but allow the Richmond area be the main focus b/c it`s a central spot for the state. |
CAN YOU BELIEVE

States are being moved from Fairfax to CHESAPEAKE of all places! |

I dont understand why all of you Nova teams think that The games have to stay in your area. It moved around before and worked out well. If it is a State tournament then it should be fair to all and move every other year or every two years like it did before. |

And NOVA has hosted states how many times?? Where`s the rotation in that? The only rotation for the last ten years was between the fields in Richmond and Va Beach. No offense , but we don`t get frequent driver miles!!!! |

Interesting stats:
In 2007 the Tournament was held in Richmond. That year, there were 10 NOVA Member Leagues with a total of 43 eligible births. 3 "A" and 17 "B" births were taken for a total of 20 out of 43 (47% of the eligible!).
In 2008 the Tournament was held in Fairfax. Last year, there were 14 NOVA Member Leagues with a total of 49 eligible births. 6 "A" and 33 "B" births were taken for a total of 39 out of 49 (80% of the eligible!).
This overwelming NOVA participation was the reason that the 2008 VFFA State Tournament was the largest we have ever had. Of the 88 teams, 49 (or 55%) came from outside the NOVA area to participate. With 39 teams or 44% from within.
Food for thought! With a Fairfax team, Magnums the "B" State Champions, will these teams support the tournament in Chesapeake as well as they do in Fairfax? - RCJ |

Honestly? I doubt it. Let`s be honest, not having to drive made it easier for us NOVA teams to put in a team. If my team earns a bid though, we`ll be there. |

Thanks Al because the Hampton Roads teams have traveled for the last 5 years without complaint and do not mind if it rotates every year. It took a good amount of work to get everything that was agreed to for this tournament and rest assured that everyone who comes will have a great experiance and those that come down and support the Host HQ by staying there will be well taken care of. |
