Nov 24, 2008 8:57 PM | Rob, Why is there no seeding for the A tournament and make it so teams from the same region don`t play each other in the first round. For example take the top 3 teams from each league and have Ricmond # 3 play NOVA #3, VA Beach #3 plays Harrisonburg #3 etc.? |
thats stupid

then you would have every #1 team play another #1 team that makes it no incentive to win your league |

We seed by jersey color. For example: Red should play Green; that`s Chrismasey! And, Black should play Orange; that`s Halloweeney. And Blue should play Gray; that`s Cowboyey. And Maroon should play Gold; that`s Skiney! Pink should play Fusia; that`s !!!!!! and so on..... any one else agree? |

#3 v #1 of another league, there is got to be some way to seed and make it so league champs or teams from the same region don`t play each other in the first round. |

To "What I Meant Was". That`s pretty much the way it has been done since the VFFA was founded. If you doubt, pick a year and a Bracket (first round pairings) and I`ll be happy to research for you. Teams on the top of the bracket are usually a #1 from one league and their opponent is usually a # 2 or #3 from another league. Also, teams from the SAME league are usually put in different halves or quarters of the Tournmant. After 1st Round games, all bets are off as we cannot control who will advance and often #1`s will meet #1`s from a different league(in second round). NOTE: this year we will have 36 Member Leagues, so you can quickly deduce how many #1`s there might be! - RCJ |
