Dec 10, 2015 10:50 AM | I don`t get why people complain about not playing on turf and the condition of the fields in Richmond. To me Dorey is the best place to have the tournament. All the fields are next to each other so you can check out the competition from around the state. You get a chance to see the whole tournament as opposed to just teams in your bracket. But you would rather complain because you don`t like to play football on grass. The fields aren`t that bad. The sport started out on grass. It helps make the experience too when you get your butt beat and have to drive home dirty. Man up out there young men. And remember, if you get beat on grass you woulda got beat on turf too. Have fun out there and may the best team win. |
WELL SAID!

I chuckle at the "tough guy" mentality...sounds like a former 2nd string JV defensive end who got brainwashed by his coach in high school."RUB SOME DIRT ON IT SON!" Guess what, no grown man in his right mind drives home relishing in the experience of being dirty because he just played football.
People pay stupid amounts of money to play in this tournament. The majority don`t even play more than 50 minutes. So when people want the best experience and most bang for their buck, that means they want to play on the best fields the league has to offer. It also means they don`t want to play on a dirt field that may not be kept up with and pose a greater risk of injury than a turf field. I understand it is good to rotate the location of the tournament, but please don`t get it twisted and think you are "tough" and a "veteran" because you criticize people for wanting to utilize available resources. |
I do the maths

Actually, only half the tourney plays 50 minutes. From there it drops exponentially. |

lost in all this, dorey park`s fields are kept in good condition. they literally close the fields if it looks like it is going to rain. |

I didn`t criticize anyone for wanting to play on turf nor did I say anything about a dirt field. I was just saying "stop crying about the grass fields". Dorey Park fields are kept up pretty darn well. Stay at home young man and coach says "rub some black beads on it son" |
