12:37 PM | Fairfax is a bit of an enigma right now. Every year we here that this is their year and every year they produce the same “almost”. Last year 703 had 3 teams playing in the quarterfinals with a shot at Sunday. The wolves probably should have won as they lost a last second play where there guy batted the ball into the defenders hand, but that’s the 703 way, “almost”. It’s nearly impossible to tell what’s coming out of 703 since they have so many leagues and so many of their players play on various teams. How a certain team will perform 100% is affected by the personnel they may or may not have. Collision seems like the hot team right now coming out of this area and now we here they are teaming up with gameface (scarface IFFL) for states. I just don’t understand it. Triple Crown is making a return; they are always a competitive bunch who is only 1 year removed from the finals. 7pt Spread isn’t really a sleeper but they’ve never made it to Sunday and seem to always disappoint. Stone Cold made some noise last year in B but look to test their strength in A.
Collision/Gameface/Scarface – I’m not sure how this is going to work out. They play together on Sunday mornings so I guess that’s a start. I’ll assume Manny (Gameface) will be the QB, but Cory (Collision) has been on fire as of late. These 2 teams just played in the weeknight finals, a game that was dominated by Collision. That being said both teams are very consistent and take what’s. WR and DBs from both teams are very smart. Outlook – Quarterfinals for sure. Depending on matchup they could be playing on Sunday.
Triple Crown – The boys are back. I have no Intel on these guys but I’m sure Jeremy will be their leader which means they will competitive and poised to knock of anybody in front of them. Will the season layoff of playing together hurt these guys? Outlook – Round 2 exit.
7pt Spread – I can’t quite figure these guys out. In FCFFL they looked average, getting knocked off in round 1 of the playoffs by Collision in the FCFFL. Then they go to Richmond and make it to the finals in the CVFA. When these guys are playing, they are a top team in the state. Which team will show up to states? Outlook – I think they will make it to their 4th straight quarterfinals and lose.
Wolves – The vets. They will beat any team they doesn’t have their game together. They will lose to any team that does have their game and has better athletes. They won’t have the luxury of bringing all the Collision players with them this year so it could be an early exit for the old guys. Outlook – Round 2 exit. These guys are just getting to old to compete w/o the young leg helping them out.
Honorable Mention: TMT – A lot of bark, how much bite though? Novacaine – Don’t sleep on these guys. They have the players and experience to do it. Bodysnatchers – Solid team, not sure if they are signing up or not. They will knock off some teams. Stone Cold – Heard they will not be signing up as a team, but there players are spread everywhere on other teams.

Grove – 7pt Spread
Mike(s) – TC
Jason – Wolves
Region Outlook: I think at least 1 team will make it to Sunday.

There literally 0 other good teams in the tournament. GameFace had some players out there, The Truth had same players out there, Collision had players, 7pt was in there, but looked like the QB and about 3 regulars. No overall good teams. |

7 pt is a great team and luckily we didn`t have to play them in the championship. GOAT had a lot of good players from a few different teams who came together last minute. It was a fun tournament, good practice to get your team on the same page for these big tourneys coming up. |

Gameface and Collision play in the FCFFL as separate teams.
They play as Scarface in the IFFL. In both leagues, their team earned an A bid.
Could Gameface and Collision both compete in A. Probably. Can Scarface complete in A. Probably.
The difference is Fairfax has a lot more opportunities to play and guys play on multiple teams bc their whole team doesn`t play in multiple leagues. |

played in fcffl with wolves for 2 seasons then went to states with the wolves last year.
This time they are playing with manny and crew but if you`ve ever seen collision, they run with 8-10 guys and rarely enter tournaments on their own. look at their history...

Bundy, what is a bad draw? I don`t really understand that concept when people say it.
On one hand when you say bad draw, it`s like you`re saying we`re not going to win anyway, so I hope we get the easiest possible road to get as far as we`re going to get.
So is a bad draw (in this tourney) considered having to play Primetime or Firm early?
Rather, is a good draw considered having to play "The Truth"?
I don`t know, because I just listed 3 teams that I think are very capable of beating and losing to anybody on any given day. People throw around the "bad draw" phrase a lot.
Is there any such thing as a bad draw for Primetime and/or Firm since they are considered the favorites? |

I understand the concept of a bad draw if you`re essentially scared to play certain teams or if you`d rather not play certain teams and have the easiest possible route to get as far as you can get. But that`s not what you`re saying, RIGHHHTTTTTT!!!
But No, from a competitive standpoint of signing up for a tournament, knowing that certain teams will be in it also, NO, I don`t understand it.
If I want to avoid having to play gunz, primetime and/or firm, I`ll sign my team up for B.
BUT like I said in the previous post, what`s a "good draw" then. |

I wasn`t there when they took the forfeit, but it d@mn sure wasn`t to avoid anybody. I was told that the team they were playing, it was their 4th game and it was only our 3rd and regardless of win or loss both teams were advancing.
For the record, how did taking that forfeit avoid playing TMT? |

@^ Hose and Bros had players on their team that play with TMT in some leagues and wanted a shot at their buddies. Plus, by taking the forfeit both teams saved wear and tear on their bodies for the games that mattered instead of an irrelevant pool play game since both teams were advancing. |

I would be pissed with my team or the other team if they chose to forfeit a game instead of play.
thats like saying in your open league, Team A clinced an A playoff spot, and decided to forfeit their last regular season game against Team C because it has no meaning. Yet team C could be a B or C team wanting to know where they stand.
I don`t like it. Will 7Pt Spread be forfeiting any games in these next two weekends? Could they be worried about the wear and tear their bodies are gonna take? I don`t think so. |

Cody - To me, a forfeit is a forfeit no matter who is playing and who the opponent is. Whats the point of signing up for a tournament and deciding to sit out one of the scheduled games? even if it was not TMT but was choppa city, why would a guys decide not to play? To the closet, go check the records, we`ve never signed up for B and as of right now, we have no desire to do so. And you`re right a forfeit is a forfeit, you care, we don`t.

check out the license plates at the fields this weekend where local teams are playing. you will see a lot of MD tags and some DC tags. its just what it is only across the bridge to MD and some MD players closer to the field than VA players. take your pick its all the same up here 703/301/240/571. no rules say MD players can`t play on VA teams. no rules says teams cant play in both VA and MD where are those rules? there is no rules like that. |

I have never in my life seen so many "grown men" cry about something in my life . First it was there an MD team (IFFL Fairfax weeknights & Sunday mornings), then they have illegal players . Fellas be a sportsman and accept the challenge , to be the BEST you have to BEAT the best . Stop crying and just play ball . If the kid is the QBs brother and has been playing with them for a whole now is obviously on the roster. TMT beat my team on Saturday and my hats off to them. Those boys can ball. They were clicking the complete hour. Not sure why there has to be so much hate, they did what they had to do, came out there and won the tournament. |
