Nationals are a joke! Why are all these other states members then no teams from any of them are there. It`s always 4 or 5 Va. 2 WV and one of them always doesn`t show. Then there`s maybe one from NY and PA and maybe one from Ohio. Yeah sounds like a waste of gas money to me. Nationals my ass!! |

my guess is you have never played nationals so thats why you are sour. Is A states harder then nats? sure it is and everyone knows it. Good luck on even qualifying for nats some day. |

To M&G whatever dude yes hard to get to that sorry tournament cus the state is hard. What`s playing in it have to do with it being sour. Not saying the teams that do go are sorry. Saying the Nationals are sorry cus there is barley any teams even in it! When I think of a National tourney i`m think lot of states and few teams from each one. Basically the Va state tourney again with our 3 or 4 best. |

Everyone knows its not as good as states. But just like the barkbowl its still very hard to win. Agree on i wish there would be more states. But im sure putting this thing together is not a easy task for guys (like bob) who are not even getting paid to do it. |

Firm doesn`t think is hard to win. A national tournament with only 3-4 states in ti is not a real nats tourney. The real ones are held in FLA, Cali and Texas. |
clueless
Dec 03, 2012 06:09 AM | subject: re: who won
you guys are clueless. yes there is flag all over the us but only SO MANY states use 8 on 8 eligible and thats who is in our nationals. other regions do 8 on 8 linemen ineligible, some do 7 on 7, 9 on 9, and 5 on 5. im guessing u want them style teams to play in our nationals? |

I always here alot of complaining but rarely do I ever here a solution to the problem. Its not VA`s or bobs fault the other states decide not to participate or only bring one team. Alot of teams cannot afford to go. Each state gets 4 team bids not including the returning champs. I know how hard it is to run a local wrestling tournament. I cant eve amagine the work it would take to put together a all state national tourny. No too many people can take that many days off if they did. still was fun |

I blame it on the oganization. Why is the VFFA still alligned with USFFA? it is a dated org, you can tell just by lookin at the website of usffa. why not partner up with a bigger org that has REAL national tourneys in FLA or Vegas? USFFA needs new direction and leadership. |

Dec 03, 2012 09:43 AM | subject: re: who won
just checked. USFFA has 8 states with affiliations in it and only has, what, maybe 4 states that actually show to nationals? |
USTFL
Dec 03, 2012 09:51 AM | subject: re: who won
Thats the tourney in FL. I wouldn`t really call that a national tournament either, becausey your really don`t have to qualify. You just have to sign up, you don`t even have to be affiliated with a league.
And if you look at it they have a lot of teams, but they usually only come from DMV area, Fl, Georgia, Lousiana, NC and Ohio. So is that really a national tourney, just because it has more teams. Especially when more than 1/2 of them come from up here.

Dec 03, 2012 11:38 AM | subject: re: who won
17 teams in that national in FL last year an 6 out of the final 8 was D.C. teams lol. 3 out of the final 4 was D.C. teams. REAL nationals in FL? nope. just cost more to get there and then you play teams from your same LEAGUE not just the same state lol get real. |

went to a "national tournament" in Oregon that plays by the USTFL rules. There were teams from WA, OR, CA, and Canada. The teams I saw play would be lower A teams if in VA.
There were very few big hits. The biggest difference was they didn`t do any field goals or kick offs. Downfield blocking just led to more run plays that really didn`t go far. |

Well You will be in for a rude awakening if you think they play like that in Maryland or North Carolina - even field goals and extra points are live. It`s all of hitting, screens, crack blocks, return walls, and collisions all game. FOR REAL! |

Dec 03, 2012 11:06 PM | subject: re: who won
yes he`d be in for a rude awakening. As i said above, 70% of the people on each team out there just looking to take somebody head off... legally. The 9-man is even more brutal because they allow stiff arm (aka punches). Kickoff is the worst. Only thing i can say about it though, is that you`d think it would be a lot more fighting out there, it`s not because it`s a culture, lol!!! |
