804:
The Gunz are still the top of the flag football game in the state of Virginia and most likely the nation. Despite everyone thinking they were too old or not as fast as they used to be they clearly proved they are still the CHAMPS.

B Steezy might be hanging up the ole flags? It’s true, not even B Still, can out run father time. If this is his last hoorah then I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for the way he plays the game and how he has positively influenced teammates, opposing players, and onlookers. This guy is still one of if not the best route runners in the game. He’ll be missed but don’t be surprised to see him in the 757 next December because we all know how hard it is to walk away from what we love.

There seems to be a passing of the torch as time goes by in the 804. Some of the older teams are starting to show their age and the younger teams are maturing. Primetime is the real deal and were one or two plays away from a championship shot but so were a lot of teams, Westwood had a good showing but ran into the Gunz too early, and River City who also ran into a team that knows them to well. Dmob and Power are, and still will be a force on the A stage but will need to make some additions as the game evolves.

540/703:
The 703 is the best it has been in years. These guys had an impressive showing this year and look rather promising in the future. I know some of the haters will say home-field advantage blah, blah, blah, but regardless the 703 is starting to improve season by season and look for more than just TC to start turning some heads. M&G also proved a lot this weekend showing they are by no means a B level team but more like a top 5 A talent. Wolves and 7pt are legit and need just a few more seasons under their belts to be elite or championship caliber.

757:
The 757 had a tough showing this year but that means nothing. The 757 still has some of the state’s premier teams in Firm, Ida Barbour, and Da Unit. They just ran into some talent very early in the brackets this year. The Firm is still the national champs and the #1 team out of the 757. On the up and up is the B champs, Classics and runner up Rivals. These guys will need to get as much A caliber practice as possible before next year. 757 will be back next year looking for some get back.

Was a fun year and should be more of the same starting in the Winter/Spring. Good luck to all teams this upcoming season!

Cobra out.
